Job summary

Mountaire Farms in Millsboro, DE is seeking a seasoned supervisor for the Rendering plant to oversee day-to-day operations and ensure safety, environmental, and product quality goals.

The role requires 5+ years of supervisory experience, 3–5 years in Rendering, and PCQI certification or training. The work schedule runs Sunday–Wednesday nights with rotating shifts; flexibility to cover other shifts is expected.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of supervisory/management experience.
• 3–5 years of Rendering experience.
• PCQI certification or training is required.
• Must understand plant operation software, equipment and processes.
• Shift is 1 of 4; may supervise other shifts as needed.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day Rendering plant activities to meet goals.
• Monitor and supervise operations and execute daily initiatives.
• Troubleshoot operational issues and take corrective actions.
• Train, develop, and support Rendering employees and cross-train staff.
• Complete daily operational reports and ensure accuracy.

Job description

Primary Purpose:

Oversee the day-to-day activities of the Rendering plant. Responsible for receiving raw materials as well as timely loading for customers.

Work Schedule:

Sunday–Wednesday, 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM, with a rotation to Thursday–Sunday every four months.

Major Duties & Responsibilities:

• Monitoring and supervising activities and executing daily initiatives to meet operational, environmental and safety goals.
• Troubleshooting operational issues and having the knowledge to take appropriate action(s).
• Training, retention, development, direction and support to the Rendering employees. Overseeing continuous cross-training programs to build competencies and add breadth and depth to the team.
• Completing daily operational reports and monitoring completed reports, checking for accuracy and taking any corrective action as necessary.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma/GED required. Bachelor’s degree preferred in a relevant field.
• On-the-job training (OJT).
• Minimum 5 years of demonstrated supervisory/management experience.
• 3 – 5 years’ Rendering experience.
• Preventive Controllers Qualified Individual (PCQI) – risk-based prevention system recognized by FDA.
• Must be able to make sound decisions as it related to plant, safety, environmental and product quality.
• Must have a technical understanding of plant operation software, equipment and process.
• This position is available 1 shift out of 4.
• Maintains flexibility to help supervise other shifts as needed
