Job summary

Tyson Foods in Harmony, NC is seeking Production Operators to run rendering processing, grinding and loadout equipment across all shifts. You will monitor automated systems, ensure product quality, and maintain equipment performance in a fast-paced facility.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent and prior manufacturing exposure; forklift certification is a plus. This role requires safety compliance, teamwork, and flexibility to work overtime and weekends.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 months continuous experience in an industrial, manufacturing, construction, or landscaping environment.
• Minimum of 6 months continuous work history within the past 2 years.
• Experience in manufacturing, rendering, or food processing preferred.
• Mechanical and technical aptitude required.
• Ability to operate machinery and computerized control systems.
• Forklift experience or ability to obtain certification.

Responsibilities

• Operate processing and grinding equipment (cookers, dryers, mills) according to production schedules.
• Monitor and adjust process controls (temperature, flow, speed) for optimal performance.
• Set up and operate grinding systems used in production.
• Coordinate with receiving, production, and loadout teams to maintain workflow.
• Load and ship finished products; verify quantities, specifications, and shipping documentation.
• Perform quality checks (visual, moisture, odor) and support QA/HACCP programs.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform minor maintenance and system resets (breakers, drives, controls).
• Operate forklifts, loaders, conveyors, and/or loadout equipment safely.
• Record production, quality, and shipping data accurately.
• Maintain clean work areas and follow all sanitation and safety requirements.
• Communicate effectively with team members and report safety or operational concerns.
