Job summary

Legacy Funeral Group is seeking a part-time Removal Technician to handle care, removal, and transport of human remains in accordance with state, local, and company policies. A 2 hour minimum and $125 per removal bonus apply for night or weekend removals.

The role requires compassion, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to log and track deceased transfers while maintaining professional standards and safety practices.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum six months of work experience.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Strong communication, compassion and integrity.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize.

Responsibilities

• Care for the deceased in a respectful manner.
• Adhere to licensing and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain a log of all deceased in care and transfers.
• Promote safe work environment and universal precautions.
• Perform removals from hospital, nursing home or residence to mortuary.
• Ensure removal vehicle is clean and maintained.
• Maintain PPE supplies in removal vehicles.

Job description

This position is as needed. When called for a night or weekend removal there will be a 2 hour minimum plus $125 per removal bonus. Normally 1 week on and 1 week off schedule.

The part-time Removal Technician is responsible for the care, removal, and transport of human remains in accordance with all state, local and company policies and procedures.

Essential Functions And Competencies

• Care for deceased in a respectful manner.
• Adhere to all professional, municipal, state/provincial and federal licensing and/or authority regulations.
• Keep and Maintain a log of all deceased in their care as well as those transferred from our care.
• Promote a safe work environment be being aware of and practicing universal precautions and adopting general principles of safe conduct.
• Performs removals of deceased from hospital, nursing home or residence to transport to, mortuary or funeral home. May perform removals from prep rooms or embalming facilities as well.
• Maintains and ensures removal vehicle is clean inside and out and is properly maintained.
• Maintains adequate supply of Personal Protective Equipment in removal vehicles.
• This job is Non-exempt.

Required Education And Experience

• High School or GED equivalent Experience
• Minimum of six (6) months’ work experience
• Valid Driver’s License with a Clean Driving Record
• Knowledge of computers and some software would be an asset, or willingness to learn
