Job summary

i4 Dental Lab in Philadelphia is seeking a skilled Removable Dental Laboratory Technician to join our growing team. You will fabricate and modify full and partial dentures, trays, bite rims, and appliances with attention to aesthetics and functional bite.

The ideal candidate brings hands-on removable prosthetics experience, strong dexterity, familiarity with CAD/CAM workflows, and comfort interpreting prescriptions. CDT certification is a plus but not required if experience is solid.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years hands-on experience as a Removable Dental Lab Technician.
• Strong knowledge of removable prosthetics, occlusion, tooth contouring, and dental materials.
• Excellent manual dexterity and attention to detail; capable of artistic aesthetics.
• Familiarity with digital denture workflows (3Shape, exocad, 3D printing) is a major plus.
• CDT certification is a plus but not required with relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate full and partial dentures, trays, bite rims, nightguards, and appliances.
• Set up teeth, wax-ups, articulation, flasking, processing, deflasking, and finishing/polishing.
• Perform repairs, relines, re-bases, and add teeth or clasps.
• Collaborate with CAD/CAM tech and digital denture design software.
• Ensure bite alignment, aesthetics, and structural integrity per prescriptions.
• Read prescriptions, maintain bench organization, and uphold infection control standards.

Position Summary

The Removable Dental Lab Technician will focus on the fabrication, alteration, setup, processing, and repair of full and partial removable dentures and appliances. The ideal candidate brings strong bench experience in traditional removable prosthetics, combined with an eye for aesthetics and a solid understanding of bite, function, and occlusion.

Key Responsibilities

• Fabrication & Assembly: Fabricate high-quality full and partial dentures, custom impression trays, bite rims, nightguards, and orthodontic appliances.
• Setup & Processing: Perform precise tooth setup, wax-ups, articulation, flasking, processing, deflasking, and finishing/polishing of acrylic dentures.
• Repairs & Adjustments: Handle denture repairs, relines, re-bases, and additions of teeth or clasps.
• Digital Integration (If Applicable): Work with CAD/CAM technology, digital scanning, 3D printers, and digital denture design software.
• Quality Assurance: Inspect cases against dentist prescriptions to ensure precise bite alignment, aesthetics, and structural integrity.
• Prescription & Lab Management: Read and interpret written prescriptions from doctors, maintain bench organization, and adhere to infection control/OSHA standards.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Experience: Minimum 3+ years of hands-on experience as a Removable Dental Lab Technician (experienced senior technicians preferred).
• Technical Proficiency: Deep understanding of removable prosthetics, occlusion, tooth contouring, and dental materials (acrylics, resins, alloys).
• Skills: Strong manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and an artistic eye for natural tooth aesthetics.
• Certifications: Certified Dental Technician (CDT) certification in Removables is a strong plus, but not required with relevant experience.
• Digital Experience: Familiarity with digital denture workflows (3Shape, exocad, 3D printing) is a major advantage.
• Attitude: Dependable, detail-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced team environment.

Schedule & Compensation

• Schedule: Full-Time, Monday through Friday (Day Shift)
• Pay Rate: $28.00 – $35.00 per hour (dependent on experience level and skill assessment)
