Job summary

VCI is seeking an experienced Senior Ambulance Remount Technician in South Plainfield, NJ to rebuild, refurbish, and remount ambulances serving first responders in the Northeast. The role includes diagnosing electrical, mechanical, and vehicle systems, transferring modules to new chassis, and mentoring junior techs.

Relocation assistance is available for highly qualified candidates. The position offers competitive pay up to $55/hour, with benefits such as medical/dental/vision, 401(k), and paid

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in ambulance remounting or related field.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Experience reading schematics and technical drawings.
• Welding experience is a plus and ASE/EVT certifications are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Complete ambulance remount projects from teardown through final delivery.
• Transfer ambulance modules onto new chassis.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, HVAC, lighting, and vehicle systems.
• Fabricate, modify, and install components as needed.
• Perform inspections, testing, troubleshooting, and quality checks.
• Read and follow schematics, specifications, and work instructions.
• Mentor less-experienced technicians when needed.

VCI is seeking an experienced Senior Ambulance Remount Technician to help rebuild, refurbish, and remount ambulances that serve first responders throughout the Northeast.

• Welding experience, EVT/ASE certifications and direct ambulance remount experience are a plus.
