The Senior Ambulance Remount Technician performs skilled mechanical, electrical, and fabrication work to remove an ambulance module and install it on a new chassis, ensuring safety, quality, and schedule adherence.

Qualifications

• Ambulance remounting or related trade experience required.
• Diagnose and repair 12-volt DC electrical systems using wiring diagrams, a digital multimeter, test lights, and troubleshooting methods.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with precision measurement, drilling, fastening, sealing, fit-up, and component installation.
• Fabrication experience; welding capability preferred for senior candidates.
• Read drawings and schematics; follow specifications and quality checklists.
• Record of safe work, reliable attendance, and personal accountability.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Complete ambulance remount projects from teardown to delivery.
• Inspect and document incoming units; identify damage, wear, and scope changes.
• Safely disconnect, lift, remove, and remount ambulance modules per torque and fixtures.
• Prepare and modify chassis and modules, including mounts, brackets, and interfaces.
• Fabricate and install components using metalworking, drilling, and welding.
• Install and test 12V DC and 120V AC circuits and wiring harnesses.
• Integrate HVAC, oxygen/suction, cabinetry, doors, and safety equipment.
• Troubleshoot fitment, electrical, and finish-quality issues; perform repairs.
• Document work, communicate delays, and maintain clean, safe work area.
