Distinct | North America is seeking a Workers' Compensation Attorney to defend claims from a fully remote CA-based position. You will handle petitions for reconsideration, and may pursue writs to the Court of Appeal, while tying the record from trial to your arguments.

Three+ years in workers' compensation defense and California Bar admission are required; occasional in-person appearances in Southern California near LA may be necessary.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years in workers' compensation defense.
• Admitted to the California Bar.
• Ability to persuasively argue to influence judges.

Responsibilities

• Handle board trials and communicate with adjusters about appeals.
• Write petitions for reconsideration and respond to applicants.
• Draft writs of review when needed and conduct cross-examinations of QMEs.
• Take applicant depositions and manage serious and willful claims.
• Maintain familiarity with California workers' compensation defense practice.
