Job summary

Acrisure is seeking a Workers’ Compensation Claims Examiner to support clients within the Alabama jurisdiction. This role manages lost-time workers’ compensation claims from assignment through resolution, with emphasis on investigation, reserves, and settlement negotiations.

Ideal candidates have lost-time claims experience, Alabama jurisdiction exposure, and the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. On-site collaboration in Birmingham, AL is expected.

Qualifications

• Experience managing lost-time workers’ compensation claims.
• Exposure to Alabama jurisdiction and state statutes.
• Strong analytical skills and decision-making.
• Clear verbal and written communication abilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and claims systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage a desk and caseload of workers’ compensation claims in an efficient and professional manner.
• Investigate claims thoroughly, including coverage, liability, and exposure analysis.
• Evaluate claim exposure and maintain accurate reserves.
• Manage litigation activity and coordinate with defense counsel as needed.
• Evaluate claims for settlement and negotiate resolutions with claimants and attorneys.
• Monitor medical treatment activity and claim progression.
• Maintain organized claim documentation within the claims system.
• Ensure claim payments are processed accurately and timely.
• Maintain communication with employers, injured workers, attorneys, providers, and clients.
• Participate in required training and stay updated on state statutes.
