Job summary

Builders Mutual Insurance Company is seeking a Workers’ Compensation Claims Adjuster to handle front-line, customer-focused management of lost-time claims. This remote role allows you to work from home and travel to the Raleigh office up to four times annually for meetings and events.

The position requires 3+ years of WC experience, a SC or reciprocal adjuster license, and strong communication skills. You will investigate, negotiate settlements, and oversee litigation within defined budgets.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of workers' comp litigated and lost time claims handling experience for SC and NC.
• Active SC or reciprocal state adjuster license; other licenses a plus.
• Strong verbal and written communication; organized and proactive.

Responsibilities

• Handle investigation and settlement of assigned WC claims; interview insureds, claimants, witnesses, and physicians.
• Evaluate coverage, determine liability, negotiate settlements and advise on litigation.
• Oversee litigated claims and manage litigation expenses within budget.
• Maintain timely diaries and action plans for effective claim management.
• Collaborate with agents, insureds, Risk Management, and Underwriting.
