Job summary

University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is seeking a UTS - Temporary Web Designer to develop, implement, and launch a WordPress-based office site. You will update content and design, troubleshoot, and collaborate with staff to ensure usability and accessibility.

Strong skills in WordPress, HTML, and CSS are mandatory, with familiarity in Gutenberg, themes/plugins, and WCAG 2.1. Remote work is available; the role is full-time temporary for 1–6 months.

Qualifications

• Requires a 4-year degree in a related field and proven web design experience.
• Strong skills in WordPress website design, HTML, and CSS are mandatory.
• Familiarity with Gutenberg editor, WordPress themes/plugins, and WCAG 2.1 accessibility standards.

Responsibilities

• Complete development and launch a new WordPress office website.
• Implement remaining content and design updates and troubleshoot website issues.
• Collaborate with OIRPA staff to ensure usability and accessibility.
