Description: A remote Wire Harness Design Engineer job is currently available at Belcan. Position is a full-time, direct opportunity with benefits. To be considered for this role, you will need a bachelor's degree and at least 3 years of engineering experience or an equivalent degree and experience combination.

Wiring Design Engineer Job Duties

  • Candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining electrical wire harness detail, assembly and installation designs in an aerospace design environment. Candidate will develop, integrate and maintain critical electrical cable/wire harness detail, assembly and installation designs. This includes integrating the functional system requirements into an efficient logical and physical wire harness architecture throughout the vehicle. Knowledge requirements include selection of proper materials and parts selection based on electrical and environmental properties, functional separation based on systems safety requirements and build processes.
  • Candidate will follow and look for improvements to documented processes, specifications and procedures that support safe and quality design and manufacture of electrical commodities. Candidate will analyze functional and physical requirements to assure the development of integrated designs and system architecture.
  • Travel 25% or less

Required

Bachelor's Degree in a recognized engineering field from an accredited institution or equivalent work experience

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Experienced with electrical harness design in Siemans (formerlyMentor Graphics) Capital Logic software.
  • Ability to interpret provided engineering requirements and determine solution paths,
  • Ability to work with multi-disciplinary teams, communicate technical information effectively with both internal team and external customers
  • Manage time efficiently, and produce accurate designs
  • Ability to learn quickly, multitask efficiently, and flexible enough to meet evolving customer prioritization of tasks
  • Experience with aerospace, automotive, or industrial preferred but not required

Preferred

Analysis skills to be able to identify and quickly resolve/mitigate issues

  • 3+ years of experience using wire design tools such as Siemans (formerly Mentor Graphics) Capital Logic, Zuken E3, CADAM, etc

Familiarity with NX

  • Familiarity with aerospace production and wiring standards.
  • Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing, ASME Y14.100 drafting standards, SAE AS50881 design specifications, ITAR trade compliance

We provide a competitive pay and benefits package. This position is offering a salary range of $65,000 to $125,000. Belcan considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to education, experience, geographic location, and discipline.
