Placements24 is seeking a highly experienced Remote Wind Turbine Technician Specialist to provide expert diagnostic support from anywhere in SA. The role focuses on remote troubleshooting, data analysis, and guidance to on-site technicians to keep turbines running reliably.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in wind turbine tech, hands-on repair experience with major OEMs, and strong SCADA proficiency. You will work independently, communicate clearly, and uphold safety standards in a remote setup.

Formación

• 5+ years hands-on experience as Wind Turbine Technician or equivalent roles.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot and repair wind turbine systems from major manufacturers (Siemens Gamesa, Vestas, GE).
• Proficient in SCADA and remote monitoring tools for diagnostics.
• Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic turbine subsystems.
• Must be based in South Africa with reliable internet connectivity.

Responsabilidades

• Provide expert remote technical support for wind turbine diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs.
• Analyze performance data to identify issues and optimization opportunities.
• Guide on-site technicians through complex repair procedures via remote communication.
• Develop and maintain documentation of issues, solutions and best practices.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations to resolve recurring problems.
• Contribute to development of remote diagnostic tools and procedures.
• Ensure adherence to safety protocols and industry standards remotely.
• Perform root-cause analysis for equipment failures and recommend actions.
• Stay updated on wind turbine technologies and maintenance strategies.
• Manage multiple support requests and prioritize to minimize downtime.
