Job summary

Marolf Environmental, Inc. is seeking a Water/Wastewater Estimator for a full-time remote role.

You will review project plans, perform quantity takeoffs, and prepare cost estimates for water and wastewater treatment plants, pipelines, and related infrastructure. Responsibilities include analyzing labor, material, and equipment costs, evaluating vendor quotes, updating templates, and collaborating with project managers, engineers, and business development staff to support bids and post-bid

Qualifications

• Experience in construction estimating for civil, water, or wastewater projects, including quantity takeoffs and cost analysis.
• Familiarity with water and wastewater treatment processes, pipelines, pumping stations, and related civil/structural works.
• Proficiency with estimating software, spreadsheets, and project document management tools.
• Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly present assumptions and estimate results.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage multiple deadlines, and collaborate across distributed teams.
• Relevant education such as an associate or bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements applicable to water and wastewater projects is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review project plans and specifications to prepare cost estimates.
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and analyze labor, material, and equipment costs.
• Obtain and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotes for bids.
• Update estimate templates and databases to reflect current costs.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and business development staff to support bid preparation.
• Participate in post-bid reviews and refine estimating practices based on project outcomes.
