Job summary

EY is seeking a WAF Operations Solution Engineer to configure and maintain web application firewalls, ensuring optimal performance and security for client applications. You will monitor traffic, analyze events, and respond to incidents while collaborating with cross-functional teams to strengthen security controls.

The role requires 1–2 years of WAF experience, hands-on Cloudflare/Imperva knowledge, and Terraform for automation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT/Cybersecurity or related field preferred.
• 1–2 years of web application security operations experience with WAF management.
• Hands-on experience with WAF solutions such as Cloudflare and Imperva.
• Proficiency with Terraform for infrastructure automation preferred.
• Strong understanding of web application protocols, security principles and best practices.
• Familiarity with ITIL processes and ticketing systems for incident management.
• Certifications such as CISSP or Security+ are a plus.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Configure and optimize WAF solutions to establish security controls for web applications.
• Provide ongoing operational coverage of web application firewalls.
• Monitor application traffic and security events to identify threats and vulnerabilities.
• Analyze security incidents, perform root cause analysis and remediation.
• Collaborate with incident response teams to investigate and respond to incidents.
• Develop and maintain WAF policies, rules and documentation.
• Support security audits and assessments to ensure compliance.
• Stay current with emerging threats and technologies to enhance security posture.
• Leverage WAF solutions (Cloudflare, Imperva) and Terraform for IaC deployment and management.
