Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred; AA accepted or 3+ years experience in lieu
• RID or BEI certification required
• EIPA score considered for role
• Knowledge of ASL/English communities and culture
• Ability to obtain local, regional, or national credentials as required
• Ability to work independently while meeting performance and customer service expectations
• Adhere to code of ethics and standards of practice for interpreters

Responsibilities

• Perform interpretations that are accurate grammatically and syntactically
• Maintain punctuality; inform scheduling staff if issues arise
• Collaborate with other interpreters as needed
• Represent Hands Up Communications professionally in the field
• Adhere to ethical standards, procedures, and context-specific protocols
• Maintain confidentiality of assignment content and HIPAA obligations
• Utilize technology for accurate reporting for billing and scheduling
