Job summary

Medix Staffing Solutions, Inc. is seeking a visionary Vice President of Pharmacy to define and execute the organization’s pharmacy strategy, drive operational excellence, and optimize vendor performance.

The role is 100% remote with Northeast residency required, reporting to the C-suite and collaborating with senior leadership. The VP will oversee PBMs, formulary design, and regulatory compliance, while leading a high-performing pharmacy leadership team and delivering cost-effective programs

Qualifications

• Executive leadership experience heading pharmacy operations within a health plan, MCO, or PBM.
• Extensive PBM oversight, claims adjudication, formulary management, and utilization control.
• Strong vendor contract governance and SLA enforcement.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic direction and executive oversight for all pharmacy benefit programs and day-to-day operational execution.
• Direct benefit administration, claims processing, formulary design and execution, UM, and network operations.
• Align enterprise pharmacy goals with corporate strategy, clinical standards, and growth objectives.
• Spearhead relationships, contract negotiations, and governance with PBMs, specialty pharmacies, and partners.
• Establish performance standards, enforce SLAs, and drive risk resolution.
• Oversee vendor transitions, procurement lifecycles, audits, and joint improvement initiatives.
• Lead pharmacy financial planning including multi-year forecasting, budgeting, trend analytics, and total cost of care management.
• Drive strategies for drug trend mitigation, specialty pipelines, biosimilars, and rebates.
• Sponsor clinical initiatives targeting access, adherence, safety, and health equity.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal statutes, CMS guidelines, and accreditation standards.
• Oversee delegated vendor compliance, audits, coverage determinations, and regulatory filings.
• Lead risk assessments and corrective action plans.
