Job summary

Grasshopper Bank is seeking a VP, Fund Banking Relationship Manager to lead new business development in Private Equity, Venture Capital and Emerging Manager communities. The role covers negotiating, underwriting and closing complex Fund Finance loans, and ongoing relationship management post-close.

The ideal candidate brings 5–10 years in fund finance, strong client relationship skills, and proficiency with AI-enabled due diligence within a regulated environment.

Qualifications

• 5 to 10 years of Fund Finance experience including origination, negotiation, underwriting and loan closing.
• Extensive experience managing high-value client relationships.
• Knowledge of financial statement and tax return analysis; deep Fund documentation knowledge.
• Ability to use generative AI tools for due diligence, document review, analysis and drafting with accuracy checks.
• Ability to use AI responsibly in a regulated environment, including data protection and model risk, and evaluating fintech AI usage in onboarding and fraud.
• Understanding of treasury management services, lending procedures, and Fund Banking products.
• Knowledge of banking regulations (OCC preferred) and internal policies.
• Strong collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or related field.
• Excellent analytical, oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Develops and establishes a book of new business from Private Equity, VC and Emerging Manager communities.
• Position and structure loans across the Fund Finance product suite.
• Builds relationships with referral sources and target funds to grow the book of business.
• Maintains a robust pipeline using CRM tools like Salesforce.
• Leads initial sales calls and guides clients through due diligence with credit support.
• Performs financial condition analysis and risk assessment.
• Prepares financing recommendations for Credit Committee and negotiates terms.
• Coordinates closing and ensures compliance with loan agreements and policies.
• Posts loan closing as primary Relationship Manager and elevates issues to senior management.
• Maintains knowledge of Fund Banking industry trends and competitive landscape.
• Represents the Bank in industry events to grow market presence.
