Job summary

Houston Methodist is seeking an RN-Virtual ICU RN to deliver professional nursing care through two-way audio/visual technology, collaborating with bedside nurses and monitoring patients via specialized software.

The licensed nurse will function as a proficient clinician, lead unit activities, coach staff, and coordinate education with management across the interprofessional team. A BSN and critical care experience are required.

Qualifications

• BSN required.
• Three years Critical Care Experience; one year in specialty preferred.
• RN - Texas State Licensure (PSV Compact) – must obtain permanent Texas license within 60 days (if establishing residency).
• ACLS and BLS certification (American Heart Association).
• Magnet-ANCC Recognized Certification (HM) within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care to patients via two-way audio/visual technology in collaboration with bedside nurses.
• Lead unit governance activities and serve as charge nurse as needed.
• Coach and mentor department staff in clinical and professional practice.
• Coordinate education and practice improvements with management and interprofessional team.
