Job summary

Jobot is seeking a strategic Vice President, Corporate Counsel to serve as a trusted legal advisor to senior leadership at a global reinsurance organization. The role covers corporate, governance, regulatory, and commercial matters across domestic and international operations.

You will negotiate complex contracts, guide data privacy and cybersecurity initiatives, support mergers and corporate transactions, and lead a team in developing strong internal controls and training programs.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) required.
• Active license to practice law in at least one U.S. state.
• 10+ years of legal experience in-house or in law firms.
• Strong knowledge of corporate governance and regulatory compliance.
• Experience in insurance/reinsurance or financial services preferred.

Responsibilities

• Advise executive leadership on legal, regulatory, and governance matters.
• Support corporate governance activities, boards and records.
• Draft and negotiate commercial agreements including technology and vendor contracts.
• Provide guidance on data privacy, cybersecurity, and information governance.
• Collaborate with Finance and Operations on disclosures and strategic initiatives.
• Assist with mergers, acquisitions, and corporate development.
• Advise on employment-related matters and workplace policies.
• Oversee regulatory filings and communications with insurance regulators.
• Develop and deliver internal legal training programs.
• Manage outside counsel and legal spend.
