Job summary

Arizona Department of Veterans' Services (ADVS) seeks a Veterans Benefits Counselor to provide counseling to service members, veterans and eligible dependents to ensure receipt of federal and state veteran related benefits. This role may offer remote work within Arizona based on business needs and performance.

The position requires training and accreditation with the VA within six months, plus ability to travel occasionally and meet performance measures while supporting outreach and program

Qualifications

• Experience counseling veterans and their families.
• Familiar with VA benefits processes and eligibility.
• Ability to obtain accreditation and maintain records.

Responsibilities

• Provide counseling to service members, veterans and eligible dependents.
• Assist clients with completing benefit forms and submitting to VA.
• Maintain electronic client records and generate reports for supervision.
• Attend required education to maintain accreditation and engage in AMS.
• Work with VA and state personnel to improve processes and outreach.
