Job summary

Ferguson seeks a Virtual Design & Construction (VDC) Industrial Specialist to lead drafting for industrial projects, delivering detailed piping drawings and BIM/VDC models. The role supports global templates, CAD databases, and collaboration with customers to ensure accurate conveyance of concepts and designs.

The ideal candidate has a BIM/VDC background, proficiency in Inventor/Plant 3D/Revit/AutoCAD, and excellent communication and time-management skills to handle multiple projects in a fully

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction science, architecture or a related field.
• 2+ years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Create fabrication/submittal drawings for industrial work, including Industrial Plastics, Valve Automation, Specialty Gasket, Lined Pipe work.
• Ensure that the design and drafting concepts/details are accurately conveyed on drawings.
• Maintain standards, processes, and workflows.
• Assist in creating and maintaining standard regional and global templates and CAD databases.
• Meet, communicate, and collaborate with internal and external customers.
• Bring a high level of industrial product aptitude and construction knowledge.
• Apply strong time-management skills to meet project deadlines.
• Participate with customers on VDC integration projects.
• Review design and construction documents.
• Advance global BIM/VDC initiatives.
