Job summary

Tria Federal is seeking an Enterprise Cloud / VAEC Architect Lead to act as the technical authority for a large, enterprise-scale hosting program. You will define target-state architectures and modernization roadmaps across on-prem, AWS, Azure, and hybrid environments.

You will lead executive-level discussions, mentor architects, and drive architecture governance, security integration, and cost-aware engineering practices with a hands-on, player-coach approach.

• Senior architect with enterprise cloud experience.
• Ability to lead architecture reviews and governance.
• Capability to communicate complex designs to executives.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the program’s senior technical authority and own the integrated technical solution across all hosting tasks.
• Develop and maintain target-state architecture, roadmap, reference architectures, and modernization priorities.
• Integrate multiple architects into a unified operating and modernization model.
• Lead architecture reviews for AWS, Azure, on-prem, hybrid-cloud, Kubernetes, OpenShift, and storage.
• Evaluate workload requirements and recommend IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, container, VM, and on-prem patterns.
• Direct workload discovery, dependency mapping, service mapping, and architecture development.
• Establish patterns for IaC, GitOps, CI/CD, API integration, and observability.
• Ensure decisions cover availability, resiliency, security, and lifecycle supportability.
• Partner with security to embed Zero Trust and IAM into designs.
• Define monitoring, telemetry, alerting, and incident response requirements.
• Incorporate FinOps into architecture and workload intake.
• Lead technical trade-offs on cost, schedule, performance, and risk.
• Chair or support Architecture Review Board and document major decisions.
• Identify risks and debt; develop mitigation plans and track actions to closure.
• Support incident, migration, and performance scenarios with architecture guidance.
• Review deliverables and recovery plans; mentor architects and engineers.
• Lead narrative, presentations, and demonstrations for government evaluators.
• Translate complex concepts into actionable recommendations for executives.
