Job summary

Life Science Connect is seeking a UX/UI designer to partner with product to shape experiences across web, email and SaaS products for readers and customers. You’ll turn requirements into wireframes and polished Figma designs, working within our design system and collaborating with engineering and editorial teams.

The role starts as a 1099 contract at 22–28 hours/week, with a plan to convert to a full-time position in Q1 2027. Remote work available; strong portfolio and self-motivation required.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of professional UX/UI design experience.
• Portfolio showing work in two of: B2B SaaS/web app UX, content/media websites, and email/newsletter design.
• Strong Figma skills, including working inside another team's design system.
• Responsive design and clean developer handoff.

Responsibilities

• Partner with product to brainstorm and shape new experiences, products and interfaces for readers and customers.
• Turn PM briefs and rough prototypes into wireframes and high-fidelity designs (desktop, tablet, mobile).
• Present options and iterate with PM (2–3 review rounds per page type).
• Work within the design system (Figma + Storybook): reuse existing components and extend the library.
• Spec designs for developers: layout, spacing, typography, color tokens, interactions, responsive rules, accessibility WCAG 2.2 AA and analytics events.
• Answer developer questions and review built pages before release.
• Use AI tools to move faster and help the team adopt them.
