Job summary

The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) seeks a Utilities Accommodation & Project Engineer to coordinate utility-related activities and resolve conflicts on projects in the Mt. Baker/SnoKing area.

You will work with design, construction offices and utility companies to negotiate franchises and permits within state right of way. As a Transportation Engineer 3, you will oversee agreements, track costs, and ensure projects stay on schedule and within budget while supporting safe

Responsibilities

• Identify and resolve utility conflicts on transportation projects within Mt. Baker and SnoKing areas.
• Collaborate with engineers, utilities, and stakeholders to coordinate installations and relocations.
• Develop, negotiate, and administer utility agreements and track costs.
• Represent the Utilities Office in project meetings and maintain records.
• Review and process utility permits and franchises for compliance with policies and laws.
• Coordinate review and approval of plans, permits, franchises, and related docs.
• Prepare and process applications while maintaining accurate databases and records.
• Assist with construction administration and contractor compliance to standards.
