Premera Blue Cross seeks an Underwriting Manager for a remote/telecommuter role. You will lead a high-performing team, blend leadership with underwriting expertise, and advance strategic priorities across the organization to strengthen operations.

The role requires strong people leadership, strong knowledge of health insurance underwriting, and the ability to drive pricing, contracting, and process improvements while supporting sales and account teams.

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree or 4 years of work experience in business or related field.
• 5 years of underwriting, regulatory, or health insurance consulting experience.
• Previous underwriting experience.

Mansioni

• Develop and deploy management monitoring reports for tracking financial and membership positions and contract and fulfillment production.
• Manage underwriting, pricing, and/or contracting activities to ensure adequate rates and policy provisions.
• Manage underwriting processes to meet or exceed turnaround goals.
• Create and maintain core competency in underwriting by recruitment, hiring, and training of high-quality teams.
• Manage the budget process for assigned cost center(s).
• Serve as primary point of contact within Premera for underwriting policy information.
• Provide integral support to sales and account management teams in presentations and negotiations.
• Develop and maintain pricing data and contract generation systems to support decisions.
• Assist underwriting senior management in sustaining long-term policies and procedures.
• Monitor and review data from internal departments for content and accuracy.
