Job summary

STAR7 is seeking a linguist with ENGLISH UK to translate ENGLISH US into ENGLISH UK remotely on a freelance basis, focusing on software, marketing or legal content.

You will work with CAT tools including SDL Studio, utilize TM/glossaries, and adapt content across product information and localization projects for international clients.

Ideal candidates are native English UK, have a degree in translation, strong communication, and can handle XML tagging when required.

Qualifications

• Native in target language with a degree in Applied Linguistics, Translation or equivalent experience.
• IT skilled with knowledge and experience of SDL Studio and CAT tools.
• Experience translating marketing/software/legal content preferred.
• Comfortable with technology and fast-paced environments.
• Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Translate and ensure target text reflects the meaning of the source.
• Use translation memory, glossary, and style guides as references.
• Maintain key terminology and cultural references accurately.
• Correct formatting, tagging, punctuation, and XML-related tags as needed.
• Be responsive and able to work on a freelance basis with varying priorities.
