Job summary

Reactive Markets is seeking a C++ Software Engineer to build low-latency trading infrastructure on Linux for the Switchboard platform. The role is remote (UK-based) and full-time, with ownership across design, testing, deployment, and production support.

You’ll work on pricing engines, connectivity gateways, market-data systems, and the messaging layer, solving hard performance problems in a high-stakes environment. Expect collaboration across senior engineers and occasional after-hours releases.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of C++ with Linux systems programming.
• Experience with performance-sensitive systems and profiling.
• Familiarity with networking fundamentals (TCP/UDP, sockets).
• Go experience is a strong bonus; Python for scripting and tooling are used across the platform.
• Git and shell scripting experience.
• Experience in financial services or trading tech is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Own full lifecycle of features from design to production support.
• Build low-latency trading infrastructure on Linux for the Switchboard platform.
• Collaborate on pricing engines, gateways, market-data systems, and messaging layers.
• Participate in production incident response and on-call rotations.
• Contribute to documentation and knowledge sharing in a distributed team.
