Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company is seeking a UAM Utility Designer 3 in Richfield, OH, with remote work options. You will analyze field data, design aerial and underground utilities, and ensure safety and compliance with standards.

Qualifications

• Requires high-school diploma with 3 years utility/telecom experience or a Bachelor's in engineering with 1 year experience.
• Professional certificates/licenses as required for project
• Proficient CAD/Outside Plant and PLA software, MS Office, Google Workspace, data entry
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to relay information clearly to clients and teams
• Able to perform moderately complex arithmetic and follow detailed instructions

Responsibilities

• Analyze field data using software platforms and record utility information.
• Identify safety risks and ensure compliance with standards.
• Design aerial and underground utilities following standards and remediate NASC violations.
• Translate designs to CAD/2D prints and prepare cost estimates using CU/MU tools.
• Obtain design permits and review data for accuracy in utility databases.
• Communicate requirements with clients and collaborate with project teams.
• Travel 10-20% for on-site training, projects, or meetings.
