Job summary

The Davey Resource Group, Inc. in Villa Rica, GA is seeking a full-time Utility Designer 1 to join the Make Ready Engineering team. You will plan, design, and verify locations for utility and telecom assets, traveling occasionally to project sites as needed.

Ideal candidates hold a high school diploma, are willing to obtain licenses, and can learn utility design software while using basic office tools. Strong communication, arithmetic, and problem-solving skills are valued.

Responsibilities

• Utilize software platforms to analyze and interpret field data.
• Record existing telecommunication and electric utility infrastructure.
• Identify and document safety risks and hazards.
• Apply engineering principles to design aerial and underground utility facilities.
• Transfer designs to other software platforms.
• Collaborate to propose infrastructure design solutions.
• Ensure equipment maintenance and report issues promptly.

Position Overview

The Utility Designer 1 is responsible for planning, designing, verifying locations, inspecting, or otherwise capturing information related to utility and telecommunication assets. This position will be working full time out of our Villa Rica, Georgia office.

Compensation Data

Starting Rate: $27.50 - $33 per hour depending on experience and education.

Overtime: Time and a half after 40hrs/wk, average work week 45 hours

Job Duties

What You Will Do

• Familiarity with Outside Plant Engineering design and pole loading analysis software.
