Job summary

Schnabel Engineering is seeking a Trenchless Practice Lead to guide design, project management, and staff supervision for trenchless tunnel projects nationwide. The role combines technical leadership with business development and client relations across multiple locations.

You will mentor junior staff, manage scope, schedule, and budget for trenchless installations and rehabilitations, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to win new opportunities and deliver high-quality design and

Qualifications

ABET-accredited degree in Civil, Geotechnical, or Structural Engineering; master's preferred.
Licensed Professional Engineer with ability to reciprocity to other US states.
Minimum of 15 years tunnel engineering with trenchless background; senior level considered with proven track record.
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
Familiarity with trenchless project analyses and related design/development software.

Responsibilities

Lead planning, design, and construction phase support for trenchless projects.
Manage scope, schedule, budget, and client relations across projects.
Coordinate multi-discipline teams across locations.
Perform or supervise geotechnical and trenchless design analyses.
Develop designs for installations and rehabilitations; prepare calculations, reports, and contract documents.
Prepare proposals including approach narratives and LOE estimates; coordinate with clients.
Mentor and train junior staff.
Lead national business development to grow trenchless practice; engage with professional organizations.
