Job summary

Mercedes-Benz Research & Development North America, Inc. is seeking a Trade Compliance Specialist/Coordinator to support its export controls program, focusing on software, encryption, and technology classification.

You will work with a trade compliance attorney, engineering teams, and business stakeholders on classification, licensing, recordkeeping, and audits. The role is remote within the United States; travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or equivalent in international trade, business, or related field.
• Strong knowledge of EAR/ITAR concepts and BIS license requirements.
• Experience coordinating cross-functional teams and managing projects.

Responsibilities

• Classification support: determine ECCNs, origin, HTS, Schedule B.
• End-use/end-user verifications and documentation.
• Encryption review to assess licensing needs and BIS notifications.
• Collaborate with software teams to understand functionality for compliance reviews.
• License determination support and export license applications preparation.
• Maintain trade compliance records and support audits.
• Coordinate daily trade compliance operations with cross-functional teams.
