Job summary

ENGIE North America Inc. is seeking a Legal & Title Analyst for a six-month contract role to support utility-scale renewable energy projects. The role involves title review, survey review, curative actions, and project finance coordination, with collaboration across Development, Land, Legal, and Finance teams.

The analyst will review title commitments, proformas, and surveys, manage deliverables, and prepare status reports. Strong Excel skills and experience with ALTA NSPS surveys are required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent real estate-related field.
  • 5+ years' experience reviewing title commitments, titles, land agreements, easements, surveys, and related docs.
  • Experience coordinating with title companies, surveyors, lenders and consultants.
  • Ability to analyze title exceptions and curative solutions.
  • Advanced proficiency with Excel for tracking and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Review title commitments, proformas, site control instruments, and related land documents for utility-scale energy projects.
  • Populate and maintain ENGIE's Title Review Excel Spreadsheet with title requirements and related details.
  • Prepare Title Status Reports summarizing findings, risks, and financing considerations.
  • Coordinate with title companies and provide redline comments for policies acceptable to ENGIE and lenders.
  • Review ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys for compliance with investor, lender, and title insurance requirements.
  • Evaluate easements, rights for site access, encroachments, and constructability impacts.
  • Coordinate approved title curative actions with stakeholders.
  • Support mineral title review for mineral coverage under title policies.
  • Attend project meetings and provide bi-weekly status reports.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Land Management, Business, Engineering, Legal Studies, or a related field
5+ years of title review experience
Title coordination with title companies, surveyors, lenders
Ability to analyze title exceptions and curative solutions
Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency
Strong written communication
Multi-project leadership
Knowledge of renewable energy project development and title insurance underwriting
