Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Land Management, Business, Engineering, Legal Studies, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience reviewing title commitments, title policies, land agreements, easements, surveys, and real estate documentation for energy, infrastructure, transmission, or large-scale development projects.
  • Experience coordinating with title companies, surveyors, lenders, and outside consultants.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze title exceptions, mortgage restrictions, easement requirements, and curative solutions.
  • Experience reviewing ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys and interpreting survey plats, legal descriptions, and title documents.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including tracking, reporting, and document review functions.
  • Strong written communication skills with experience preparing title reports, comment logs, and project status updates.
  • Ability to independently manage multiple projects, priorities, and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of utility-scale renewable energy project development, project finance, and title insurance underwriting requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Review title commitments, proformas, site control instruments, and related land documentation for utility-scale energy projects.
  • Populate and maintain ENGIE's Title Review Excel Spreadsheet, including title requirements, vesting/legal description review, parcel tracking, title exceptions, curative recommendations, mortgage restrictions, NDA or SNDA status, easement restrictions, surveyor determinations, and document quality issues.
  • Prepare Title Status Reports summarizing material findings, deficiencies, risks, and financing considerations.
  • Coordinate with title companies and provide redline comments to advance title policies acceptable to ENGIE, investors, and financing parties.
  • Review ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys to verify compliance within investor, lender, and title insurance requirements.
  • Evaluate easements, utility corridors, crossing requirements, site access rights, encroachments, and constructability impacts.
  • Coordinate approved title curative actions with landowners, utilities, lenders, consultants, and other project stakeholders.
  • Support mineral title review activities and obtain documentationrequiredfor mineral coverage under project title policies.
  • Attend project meetings and provide bi-weekly written statusreports summarizing progress, key issues, and upcoming actions.
