Job summary

Beacon Hill Staffing Group, LLC is seeking a Threat Detection & Compliance Engineer to strengthen cybersecurity posture via detection capabilities, security monitoring, threat hunting, and audit readiness initiatives. The role blends hands-on security engineering with governance, risk, and compliance activities to ensure controls are effective and measurable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• 5+ years in threat detection, security operations, incident response, or compliance.
• Hands-on experience with SIEM platforms and detection rule development.
• Knowledge of security auditing principles and regulatory requirements.
• Experience supporting audits and responding to auditor requests.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain threat detection and monitoring capabilities.
• Develop, tune, and optimize SIEM use cases, alerts, and rules.
• Conduct proactive threat hunting and event analysis to identify risks.
• Collaborate with Security Operations, Incident Response, and Cloud teams.
• Support audits with evidence, documentation, and audit responses.
• Evaluate controls and improve compliance and risk reduction.
• Align monitoring practices with regulatory standards and frameworks.
• Analyze logs from network, endpoint, cloud, and applications.
• Develop dashboards to measure detection effectiveness and readiness.
• Automate monitoring and reporting through scripting and workflows.
• Participate in incident investigations and root cause analysis.
• Maintain documentation of controls, monitoring processes, and artifacts.
