Varsity Tutors, a Texas-certified teaching platform, seeks remote tutors to work 1-on-1 with K-12 students nationwide from home. You’ll leverage TEKS-aligned expertise and adaptive instruction to diagnose gaps and tailor lessons, all within a flexible schedule.

Qualifications

• Active Texas Teaching Certificate (Required): Must hold a current, active teaching certificate issued by the Texas Education Agency (TEA). You will be asked to provide your certificate number during the application process for verification at tealprod.tea.state.tx.us.
• Subject matter expertise in your certified subject area(s) with ability to connect K-12 concepts to student needs.
• Classroom teaching experience in a Texas setting with TEKS standards and one-on-one instruction.
• Conceptual teaching and adaptive instruction; diagnose gaps, adjust pacing and approach.
• Effective teaching methods; explain concepts through multiple approaches for diverse learners.
• Strong communication skills and a friendly, engaging teaching style.

Responsibilities

• 1-on-1 online tutoring with individual students.
• Accept on-demand tutoring requests when available.
