Job summary

Varsity Tutors is seeking a Texas Certified Teacher to join our live online tutoring platform. You’ll work remotely, set your own schedule, and earn competitive rates while helping students with K-12 TEKS-aligned lessons.

You will tutor 1-on-1 online, handle instant tutoring requests, and leverage our AI Tutor Copilot to enhance sessions. Compensation includes up to $40/hour and payments twice per week.

Qualifications

• Active Texas Teaching Certificate (Required): Must hold a current, active teaching certificate issued by the Texas Education Agency (TEA).
• Subject Matter Expertise in certified subject area(s), with ability to connect K-12 curriculum concepts to student needs across grade levels.
• Classroom Teaching Experience in a Texas classroom setting with understanding of TEKS standards and applying them in one-on-one instruction.
• Conceptual Teaching & Adaptive Instruction: diagnose gaps, adjust pacing, explain concepts via multiple methods.
• Effective Teaching Methods: identify concepts students struggle with and adapt instruction to individual needs.
• Strong communication skills and a friendly, engaging teaching style.
