Job summary

ICF seeks a Technical Project Specialist (Technical Writer) to support CDTA projects. The writer develops, edits, and reviews clear, audience-focused materials that translate complex early childhood and CCDF topics into practical resources for federal, state, and private sector audiences.

The ideal candidate will have experience in child development or early childhood education, strong editing skills, and the ability to work with subject matter experts and teams in a government context.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a field related to early childhood systems.
• 5+ years of experience as a technical writer and editor for public dissemination.
• 3+ years translating complex technical language for broad audiences.
• 2+ years developing web content and digital resources.
• Proficient with MS Office applications.
• Experience with e-learning platforms, Canva, Smartsheet and Mural.

Responsibilities

• Support client priorities and project objectives by completing reports and information gathering tasks.
• Take notes in meetings and record outcomes for project leadership.
• Support Section 508 remediation and posting of deliverables to the website.
• Lead or participate in client or project workgroups as needed.
• Assist in digital file management, archiving, and migration.
• Collaborate with editorial teams to maintain consistent standards and voice.
