We are sharing a specialised consulting opportunity for experienced Technical Writers with strong expertise in precision writing, source synthesis, audience calibration, structured documentation, and technical evaluation to contribute to an advanced AI benchmarking and documentation project.

Selected professionals will design expert-level evaluation tasks using realistic technical source materials, create and curate documentation inputs, define rigorous solution criteria, and develop detailed grading rubrics for assessing technical outputs. The work requires strong analytical judgement, excellent written English, and the ability to translate complex source material into precise, testable documentation. No prior experience in AI is required.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Task Design

• Design expert-level evaluation tasks based on realistic technical scenarios
• Work with source materials such as CSVs, PDFs, spreadsheets, and technical documents
• Create assignments representative of real-world industry workflows
• Define clear task requirements and expected deliverables
• Ensure tasks are sufficiently complex for rigorous technical evaluation

Source Material Creation & Synthesis

• Create and curate product specifications, code samples, SME interview notes, and regulatory materials
• Synthesise information from multiple technical sources
• Identify relevant facts, requirements, constraints, and dependencies
• Transform fragmented source material into coherent documentation inputs
• Maintain traceability and consistency across source documents

Technical Documentation

• Draft realistic documentation assignments across multiple formats
• Develop API references, user guides, compliance documentation, and related technical materials
• Apply strong standards for clarity, precision, structure, and usability
• Adapt technical content to different audiences and levels of expertise
• Ensure instructions and documentation are testable and operationally useful

Solution Criteria & Acceptance Standards

• Define expected outputs for technical problem-solving assignments
• Establish clear acceptance criteria for documentation quality

• Maintain consistency across repeated review tasks
• Identify common failure modes in technical documentation and reasoning

Project Collaboration & Quality Assurance

• Collaborate asynchronously with project leads
• Refine tasks, source materials, rubrics, and deliverables based on feedback
• Review work for internal consistency and technical accuracy
• Maintain alignment with benchmark objectives and documentation standards
• Support iterative improvements to technical-evaluation workflows

Ideal Profile

• 2+ to 4+ years of professional technical-writing experience
• Portfolio demonstrating work in software, hardware, medical devices, regulated industries, or comparable technical environments
• Demonstrated expertise in producing precise and testable technical documentation
• Strong experience with structured authoring and documentation standards
• Familiarity with style guides and professional documentation toolchains
• Exceptional written English skills
• Strong control of tone, terminology, and technical register across different audiences
• Excellent analytical and source-synthesis capabilities
• Ability to transform complex technical information into clear guidance
• Experience defining acceptance criteria or detailed evaluation rubrics

Engagement Details

• Displayed compensation range: $30–$60/hour
