Oak Ridge Industries is seeking an experienced Technical Sales/Industrial Sales Engineer to collaborate with engineering, machining, fabrication, and field teams. You will scope projects, develop practical solutions, and deliver cost-effective results for customers in a hybrid remote/in-house setting.

The role requires strong communication, a solid understanding of machining and fabrication processes, and the ability to manage multiple opportunities while maintaining customer relationships.

Qualifications

• Experience in industrial sales or applications engineering within machining, fabrication, and industrial plants.
• Strong understanding of machining processes, fabrication methods, and industrial equipment.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to customers and internal teams.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with customers to understand equipment issues, repair needs, and custom manufacturing requirements.
• Visit customer sites to assess applications, operating conditions, and constraints.
• Collaborate with engineers, machinists, fabricators, and field teams to develop solutions.
• Prepare estimates and quotations including material, machining, fabrication, and labor considerations.
• Review drawings and documentation to provide accurate quoting and project definition.
• Serve as the primary customer contact throughout the sales and project lifecycle.
• Coordinate to ensure smooth handoff from sales to engineering and production.
• Create and support ongoing customer relationships and identify opportunities for repeat work.
