Job summary

Oak Ridge Industries is seeking an experienced Technical Sales professional with a strong understanding of machining, fabrication, and industrial equipment. This role collaborates with engineering, machining, fabrication, and field service teams to scope projects and deliver cost-effective solutions.

The position supports remote or hybrid work arrangements and requires site visits to understand applications, support quoting, and maintain strong relationships with customers.

Qualifications

• Experience in industrial sales or applications engineering for machining and fabrication.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to customers and teams.
• Experience working in shops, plants, and field environments.

Responsibilities

• Understand equipment issues and customer requirements to scope projects.
• Visit sites to assess applications, operating conditions, and constraints.
• Collaborate with engineers, machinists, and field teams to develop solutions.
• Prepare estimates and quotations including material, machining, and labor.
• Review drawings and documentation to define projects and quotes.
• Serve as primary customer contact throughout the sales and project lifecycle.
• Coordinate handoff from sales to engineering and production.
• Nurture ongoing customer relationships and identify repeat work.
