Job summary

GovCIO is seeking a Technical Program Manager to join the Health Technology Management Services team. This fully remote role supports the Department of Veterans Affairs Office of Information and Technology, focusing on documenting current state architectures and developing solution architectures for interoperability.

The ideal candidate has 15 years of related experience, strong leadership, and deep knowledge of data architectures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, systems, business, or related field.
• 15+ years of related experience.
• 10 years of additional relevant experience may substitute for education.
• Expert-level problem-solving and innovative thinking.
• Experience leading others and meeting deadlines.
• Excellent teamwork, thoroughness, and clear communication.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Suitability/Public Trust clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develop a holistic view of the organization’s current IT architecture, business operations, and modernization initiatives.
• Build a trusted advisory relationship with the client.
• Maintain technology roadmaps and runways aligned with strategic direction.
• Interface with users and stakeholders to determine needs.
• Manage and track technical data across products and teams for inquiries and data calls.
• Support and defend the Intake process for new work and change requests.
• Monitor and interpret memos/policies and recommend approaches.
• Communicate and advocate for alternative viewpoints clearly and diplomatically.
• Collaborate with the client to prioritize team work.
• Set priorities with the architectural team.
