Job summary

Credit Acceptance seeks an experienced Technical Product Manager to lead data solutions from strategy to delivery, partnering with business and engineering teams to build scalable, reliable data platforms.

The ideal candidate combines 8+ years of engineering depth with strong BI and data warehouse expertise, excels at defining technology vision, roadmaps, and agile execution, and can drive AI-enabled improvements across the product.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or closely related field; or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 8 years of software engineering experience or comparable depth of experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in driving technically sound data solutions that support business goals.
  • Strong technical background in BI platforms and Data Warehouses.
  • Adept at defining technology vision, develop roadmaps, and prioritize features based on customer needs and market trends.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering teams to ensure the product's technical feasibility and align with best practices.
  • Ensure the product's technical aspects are feasible and align with the latest technological standards and practices.
  • Identify and resolve technical issues, working with engineering and other relevant teams to address problems and improve serviceability.
  • Lead customer delivery engagements and/or provide partner support for large-scale solutions and complex issues.
  • Analyze data and analytical capabilities to inform product decisions and measure the impact of product changes.
  • Adopt agile development methodologies and use them to manage product development.
  • Act as a translator between technical and business stakeholders, ensuring clear and effective communication.

Responsibilities

  • Work from home with occasional travel to Southfield, Michigan office; may work from a Southfield location if requested.
  • Champion features and strategies scalable across domains with high business impact.
  • Define and document happy path diagrams for specific personas and scenarios.
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to define product requirements and direction.
  • Drive technical innovation and improve design and architecture towards leading edge technologies.
  • Become an expert in all domains to support business outcomes.
  • Develop and execute the company's technical and business strategy with engineering leadership.
  • Incorporate and lead with AI strategies and best practices.
  • Perform technical due diligence and architectural assessments of third-party technologies.
  • Experiment and test ideas, validate assumptions, and recommend solutions.
  • Document standards, best practices, and engineering artifacts for clarity and maintenance.
  • Lead continuous learning and process improvement in design and engineering practices.
  • Grow talent by participating in hiring and mentoring team members.
