Job summary

Rain is seeking a Tech Lead to join our engineering team in a remote capacity. You will guide a multidisciplinary squad across backend, frontend, and QA, owning foundational systems that handle transactions, balances, and financial movements.

You will shape architectural direction for our financial health product and lead banking partner integrations with precision. You’ll design scalable microservices, build reliable APIs, and drive observability and documentation practices across the org.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, with leadership exposure
• Designs systems with trade-offs between consistency and availability in distributed setups
• Owns projects from concept to delivery and proactively solves challenges
• Strong cross-functional collaboration and communication skills
• Experience with large-scale distributed systems

Responsibilities

• Translate product requirements into robust technical solutions and lead engineering efforts
• Lead a multidisciplinary team and manage refinements and productivity
• Design and implement reliable systems within a distributed microservices architecture
• Build and maintain integrations with 3rd-party vendors and partners
• Design and implement highly available RESTful APIs for internal admin portals
• Create reusable code and libraries to enable cross-team collaboration
• Enforce observability with logging, metrics and alerts
• Document architecture designs, APIs, workflows, and configurations
• Monitor Rain systems to maximize performance and scalability
• Coordinate across teams to align priorities and ensure smooth SDLC
