Job summary

ASK Consulting is seeking a Tax Associate for a 100% remote position in the United States, with seasonal/part-time hours. You will function as a customer-facing tax expert, reviewing returns, explaining outcomes, and guiding customers through the tax-filing process using TurboTax.

Candidates should have at least 2 seasons of paid tax prep, 30+ returns per season, and PTIN for 2027. CPA/EA/JD candidates may earn more per hour. 100% remote within the US, flexible schedule.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 seasons of paid tax preparation experience.
• At least 30 completed tax returns per season through preparation and/or review.
• Valid PTIN for the 2027 filing year.
• Strong understanding of federal tax concepts and tax laws.
• Familiarity with Form 1040 and associated schedules.
• College degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or Taxation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a primary customer contact throughout the tax engagement.
• Review and validate tax returns prepared by another tax professional.
• Explain tax outcomes and recommendations to customers.
• Research tax questions using government resources and internal tools.
• Collaborate with preparers and quality-review teams to deliver a complete customer experience.
