Job summary

The Cg Internship Program offers current students hands-on experience in public accounting with both remote and in-person options. Interns gain exposure to tax, audit, and client accounting services, working with senior staff and participating in real client engagements.

Interns will rotate through service lines, receive mentoring, and partake in training and networking events during the summer or tax season, providing a practical bridge to a professional accounting career.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing workpapers, financial statements, and client correspondence.
• Participate in planning and engagement team meetings.
• Apply learned assurance procedures in audits, reviews, or compilations of financial statements.
• Help prepare Federal and state income tax returns.
• Learn basics of tax research.
• Familiarize with United States tax reform guidance.
• Gain knowledge of Cg tax, audit, and accounting software.
• Work with senior staff to identify tax savings strategies and client recommendations.
• Learn to prepare cash flow statements, trial balances, and bank reconciliations.
• Develop knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures.
• Maintain timely communications within the engagement team and with clients.
• Adhere to the firm’s quality control policies and participate in training opportunities.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned by Cg Senior Management.
