Job summary

Indiana University Bloomington seeks a Systems Engineer to join the Enterprise Microsoft Administration team within UITS. The role focuses on centralized infrastructure services, including Active Directory, Certificate Authority, Exchange, Teams and Microsoft 365.

You will help ensure reliability across 500,000+ AD users and 250,000+ mailboxes. The position requires a Bachelor's degree and 2+ years in systems engineering, with preferred 3 years managing a Windows / Microsoft 365 environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
• 2 years of systems engineering or related experience.
• 3 years of experience managing a production Windows server environment or Microsoft 365 Tenant (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Lead project teams and manage project life cycle from planning to execution.
• Perform system administration tasks; monitor systems, security, and services; respond to alerts.
• Design, implement, and optimize complex systems in line with university policies and standards.
• Document design decisions, issues, and resolutions; maintain disaster recovery plans.
• Collaborate with teams across the university to evaluate new capabilities and emerging technologies.
• Stay updated on IT best practices, tools, and cloud/hosting trends.
