Job summary

Leidos is hiring a customer-oriented Systems Engineer to support the Air Force National Capital Region (AFNCR) IT Services program at Joint Base Andrews, the Pentagon, and other locations in the DC area. You will translate mission requirements into supportable IT solutions, working with government customers, leadership, and technical teams to close gaps and improve service usability and mission alignment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher required with extensive relevant experience.
• Active DoD Secret security clearance at time of hire.
• IAT Level II compliant, Sec+ CE or equivalent.
• 8+ years in enterprise IT, networks, or mission systems in government/defense environments.
• Experience translating mission needs into actionable requirements and service models.
• Experience with IT service-management practices and service catalogs.
• Ability to lead cross-functional coordination and executive communications.
• Ability to assess risks and develop practical corrective actions.

Responsibilities

• Provide advisory and assist support to government service owners and stakeholders.
• Draft, review, and maintain guidance and SOPs aligning with DoD/NIST frameworks.
• Deliver end-to-end IT service governance across AFNCR and mission partners.
• Coordinate agendas, briefings, minutes, and action items for IT governance bodies.
• Manage taskers across DoD and subordinate wings and map to service offerings and cost models.
• Design and manage engineering activities across the service lifecycle with PMs and architects.
• Translate validated requirements into architectures, cost estimates, and sustainment plans.
• Conduct risk analyses, trade studies, and evaluations for secure, scalable solutions.
• Develop and maintain systems-engineering artifacts and verification criteria.
• Collaborate with multiple squadrons and contract leads to refine requirements and service catalogs.
