Astrion is looking for a Surveillance Radar Engineer to provide technical expertise for FAA radar modernization efforts. This role, which is remote, focuses on accelerating radar deployments, resolving technical issues, and supporting system integration. Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Systems Engineering, along with 8+ years of relevant experience. Responsibilities include supporting FAA program offices, reviewing engineering designs, and developing recommendations for FAA leadership.
Qualifications
8+ years of surveillance radar or air traffic systems experience.
Knowledge of primary/secondary radar, Mode 3/A, C, and S operations.
FAA or DoD radar program experience preferred.
Responsibilities
Provide radar engineering SME support to FAA program offices.
Support accelerated deployment schedules and technical risk mitigation.
Review engineering designs, test plans, safety assessments.
Participate in design reviews, readiness reviews, and site commissioning.
Support system performance analysis and EMI/EMC mitigation.
Develop technical briefings and recommendations for FAA leadership.
