Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Surveillance Radar Advisor to support NAS modernization for FAA radar systems. The role requires delivering expert analysis, reporting, and planning across installation, testing, and upgrades while collaborating with FAA and contractor teams.

This position is 100% remote with about 75% travel. Candidates should bring extensive hands-on radar/system experience, strong communication, and the ability to operate independently in agile environments with significant travel.

Qualifications

• US citizenship required and ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
• Extensive hands-on maintenance or operation experience on radar, radio, or network systems.
• Ability to operate independently under agile conditions with limited oversight.
• Strong data analysis and technical reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide subject matter expertise on radar system integration, operations, and lifecycle sustainment.
• Support FAA surveillance programs with performance analysis, troubleshooting, and modernization planning.
• Observe, capture and report technical data pertinent to installation and modernization of FAA radar systems.
• Collaborate with FAA stakeholders, contractors, and engineering teams to align with mission objectives.
• Develop and submit concise technical reports and status reports throughout each phase of the project (site survey, pre-install & parts - received at site, installation, and finally, testing and acceptance).
• Provide immediate notification to higher Peraton authority of significant concerns (Risk, Issues, Opportunity) along with their potential impacts to the schedule.
• Oversees site and vendor technicians, have situational awareness of past and upcoming equipment installation schedules, and ensure compliance with FAA mandates.
• Upon completion of installation and acceptance tests, continue to monitor updated systems and communicate with site technicians and vendors to ensure optimization of all ATC systems through calibrations, alignments, and additional testing required.
