Job summary

EQT Corporation is seeking a Surface Land Agent II/III/IV to acquire and manage surface rights for upstream infrastructure, including well sites and facilities. The role requires advanced knowledge of surface land functions, title research, and negotiation across disciplines.

You will coordinate with project teams, manage contractors, and support pre-construction investigations to keep projects on time and within budget. Remote work with field travel across the operating area is expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of relevant surface land experience.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
• Working knowledge of the oil and gas industry, with emphasis on midstream operations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-motivated and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat; ability to learn additional software systems.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage professionally and effectively at all organizational levels.

Responsibilities

• Identify and verify surface and gas estate ownership.
• Analyze, interpret, negotiate, prepare and acquire Upstream Agreements, Surface Use Agreements, Road Rights-of-Way, and other surface-related contracts.
• Review and analyze title, oil and gas data, and mapping to support project development.
• Provide due diligence on identified potential well sites, facility sites, and other Upstream locations.
• Manage contractors and external land agents to ensure projects progress efficiently, meet deadlines, and remain within budget.
• Collaborate closely with project teams including surveying, permitting, engineering, and construction to support pre-construction investigations and planning activities.
• Prepare and facilitate the execution of specialized damage releases, settlement agreements, and other legal documents with required approvals.
• Coordinate with internal legal counsel and third-party companies to facilitate timely and cost-effective project execution.
• Support active construction and reclamation phases as needed.
